Speed paraglider Draco

With „Draco“ we pay homage to the Draco Volans team, who are professionals in speed riding.

Draco distinguishes from classic speed flying wings especially in its distinct glide ratio! Draco can be foot-launched, thus gives a variety of possible applications to experienced pilots.

For which purposes has Draco been construed?

Draco is a high performance wing construed for speed riding - it is made for many purposes, such as coastal soaring. Its reliable launching attitude as well as its small packed measure and low weight, even make it an interesting alternative for alpinists, who rather fly from summit to vale.

When windy conditions make it impossible to launch a normal paraglider, Draco is gonna lift you up. Due to its low sink rate and under appropriate conditions, Draco is even suitable for thermal flights.

Which of the available sizes of Draco is suitable for me?

The suitable size does not only depend on weight, but also on intended use. The stronger windy conditions are, the larger should be your wing. Draco comes up with a trim included into the carrying strap. In general it is advisable to choose a size, where your weight is in the midst respectively in the upper third of the weight range the wing is certified for.

Designing Draco, we have chosen quite overlapping weight ranges. Thus every speed riding pilot can choose a size that meets his requirements best.

Is speed riding dangerous?

ATTENTION: speed flying is a challenging sport, which is supposed to be practised only by experienced pilots, who have an appropriate education. It demands a great sense of responsibility of the pilot, who needs to be aware of the risks for others and himself.

What's the name 'Draco' about?

With the name "Draco" as well as its design, we pay homage to Draco Volans Acro Team from Montafon. These guys fly Draco, our acro glider Duke and the speed rider Carver, thereby pretty much support our development.

Thanks to Draco Volans!! Videos and information on the team is to be found on their website Draco Volans.

Which material is used for Draco?

For Draco we have chosen material, which offered an ideal compromise on weight reduction, durability and robustness. Every material we use is mady by leading manufacturers, whom we have been working and cooperating with in development issues for many years. A solid basis for high quality and for your long lasting enjoyment of flying Draco.
